Laurie Hernandez’s new book will be available January 2017.
“I am excited to write my first book and to share my journey,” said Laurie in a press release. “My hope is to inspire others with my story and encourage everyone to create goals for themselves and pursue their dreams.” The book will give an in depth look at Laurie’s life with her loving family, her rigorous training, and will detail the sacrifices she’s had to make all to ultimately see her dreams come true.
I Got This: To Gold and Beyond will retail for $17.99 and is slated to hit shelves Jan. 24.
Laurie was the first Latina gymnast to compete for the U.S. since 2004. She walked away with team gold and an individual silver medal for her near-perfect beam routine.
Laurie can be seen Monday nights on ABC’s “DWTS,” where she is performing with the Fort Lee-based pro Val Chmerkovskiy and earning raves from the judges.
