Megan Skaggs Retires from Elite Gymnastics

Megan Skaggs announced her retirement from elite gymnastics. Skaggs has committed to University of Florida, joining the Gator gymnastics for the 2017-2018 season.

Dear friends,
Today I am officially announcing my retirement from elite gymnastics. I am tremendously grateful for the opportunities and experiences I have had throughout my elite career. It is a time of my life I will treasure forever. Having the privilege to represent the U.S. through the sport of gymnastics is truly a blessing and an honor. I would like to thank my family, friends, coaches, and supporters who have continuously encouraged me throughout this journey. Moving on from this chapter of my life is difficult, but I am excited to see what the future holds for my career in the extraordinary sport of gymnastics. Thank you all.

Skaggs was added to the US national gymnastics team in 2015 and made her international debut at the 2015 City of Jesolo Trophy finishing eighth in the all-around. She competed at the 2015 Pan American Games and won a gold medal with the team.
